No success on the field, and the club also suffered ongoing financial problems.   1980-81~ The club was an entrant in the FA Cup's centenary year. 1985-86 ~ Finish third in the league, and won the Lancashire Junior Cup, Again meet York in the FA, Cup, losing after a replay. 1986-87 ~ Retained Lancashire Junior Cup. 1987-88 ~ Lost 0-2 to Marine in the re-titled Lancashire ATS Final. 1989-90 ~ Again lost 0-2 in the final of the Lancashire ATS Trophy, this time to Colne Dynamoes.
