TOMMY FERBER 1977 - 1978
Tommy had been Johnny Johnson's coach and took over as Caretaker-Manager after the former manager had been sacked. He was confirmed Manager in June 1977, however the board sacked him the following September wanting to appoint former Southport player Alex Russell as manager. The board were hindered in their attempts to sign Russell when his current club demanded £500 in compensation. Morecambe refused to do so and promptly re-appointed Johnny Johnson as Manager. He was later to he sacked again in February 1978 when the board were still unhappy with results.
