A giant of English football, gaining 35 England caps, 6 under 23 caps. Born in Preston, playing wing-half. Ronnie made his Football League debut at Blackburn Rovers at the age of 16. Indeed for 18 seasons he was their team Captain, making well over 500 appearance for them. Ronnie joined Morecambe Football Club shortly before the beginning of the 1969-70 season as Player-Manager. Sadly Ronnie struggled at the latter half of the season with injury keeping him out of the team. Ronnie was sacked after the opening game of 1970-71 season. He later played a few game at Great Harwood before retiring from the game.
