Born in Kendal, as a junior Mick played for Blackpool, Red Rose (Lancaster) and gained two England Youth International Caps. He signed for Morecambe (1958-61) making 24 appearances, before later moving to Netherfield, Leyland Motors, Lancaster City and finally Carnforth Rangers. He was also the manager of the British Telecom National team for 8 years and also the Post Office North West team (when these two organizations were part of the same set up) . He moved back to Morecambe as the Reserve team manager and was appointed Manager of Morecambe, after the sacking of Tommy Ferber, in February 1978. However the team didn't improve and after an indifferent start to the season 1979-80 Mick was sacked by the board in October 1979.  Sadly Mick died, aged 61, July 2000.
