DAVE ROBERTS 1972 - 1975
With the signing of Dave Roberts the club went for a player-manager with vast knowledge of non-league football. Dave was a mid-field player, who has junior had played for Liverpool. Later to play for Tranmere Rovers, Wigan Athletic, Macclesfield Town (were he saw a FA Trophy success), Altrincham and Rossendale United. Dave Roberts is best remembered within the club for taking Morecambe FC to Wembley in 1974 and winning the FA Trophy, beating Dartford 2-1. He resigned as manager to move to Kazma (Kuwait) as manager.
